Women for Peace and Development(WFPD)

Women for Peace and Development (WFPD) is a welfare organisation that ensures women’s inclusion and participation in conflict mitigation, management, and peacebuilding across the Mandera Triangle. Established in 2000, WFPD brings extensive experience implementing cross border projects for different donors including the most recent EU Trust Fund for Africa-funded Regional Approaches for Sustainable Conflict Management and Integration (RASMI) project. In partnership with the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) under the BORESHA-NABAD Consortium, WFPD prioritises women’s inclusion in peacebuilding, conflict prevention, disaster risk reduction, and improved access to sustainable income-generation activities. WFPD also focuses on strategic planning to empower women and reinforce long-term peace and development in the region.
