Mandera County department of health services today received COVID-19 response materials donated by the BORESHA Consortium. The donations come at a time when the country is expecting a surge in COVID-19 cases in the coming months as predicted by health experts. Mandera County had 18 COVID-19 cases and recently cleared the last patient. While that is a tremendous achievement toward flattening the curve, the rising cases in the neighboring Somali town of Bulla Hawa is a cause for concern.

The handing over event graced by Mandera county assembly Majority Leader Hon. Abdi Adan and other senior officials and presided over by the Danish Refugee Council Livelihood Manager Mr. Ali Issack. The materials donated are; handwashing kits, Jerry cans, hand sanitizer dispenser, facial shield, gloves, waste bins, hazard disposal bags, masks and infrared thermometer among others.

Hon. Abdi urged other development partners to join the fight against covid-19 and requested the Mandera population to respect health guidelines set by the ministry of health in combating this deadly pandemic.
